Something for those who have a sweet tooth

 

We may not forget our fans of sweet dishes, so here are some recipes:

 

Rice pudding from New Orleans

 

Ingredients:

400 ml water

1 cinnamon bar

1 pinch of salt

rubbed off paring of 1/2 orange

200 g long grain rice

100 g raisins

4 spoons rum

500 ml milk

500 ml cream

200 g sugar

2 spoons butter

15 g pudding powder

 

Preparation:

Boil up water, cinnamon bar, salt and orange paring, the stir in the rice and let broil the whole on low heat for 25 minutes till the liquid is evaporated and the rice is weak.

 

In the meantime soak in the raisins in the rum, afterwards add it together with the liquid to the rice. Add the rest of the ingredients besides 3 - 4 spoons milk and the pudding powder and let it cook for about 40 minutes, till the rice pudding has the desired consistence. Remove the cinnamon bar at the end, stir the pudding powder with the milk till smooth and give it to the rice. Shortly boil up and serve.

 

 

Cherry casserole

 

Ingredients:

500 g fresh sour cherry

3 spoons cherry liquor

3 spoons almond slivers

2 eggs

1 pinch of salt

90 g sugar

1 package vanilla sugar

60 g melted butter

100 ml milk

 

Preparation:

Wash, dry and pit the cherries and spread them in a buttered casserole. Sprinkle them equably with the liquor and the almond slivers. Separate the eggs white from yolk, beat the white with salt until stiff and refrigerate it. Beat the yolk together with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy, add slowly the butter. Sieve the flour above and fold in, slowly stir in the milk. Fold in the egg white and spread it over the cherries. Bake it for about 40 - 45 minutes in the pre-heated oven at 160 degrees till it golden yellow. Sprinkle with almond slivers and serve.
