Legend of the dreamcatcher 3

Long long time ago a family was in very heavy adversity. They maintained a good life founded in spirit, but their nights were filled with horrible dreams and visions. The father who didn't see another resort took his medicine pipe and went out to search advise from the great spirit. Quietly he sat on an open field, covered with prairie grass, smoking and listening to the whispering of the wind.

"I may help qou", he heard. "Who talked to me?" asked the father. While browsing around he noticed a spider sitting on a blade of grass. "It was me appealing you. I've an answer to your prayers. I will teach you my medicine. The confusions in your life don't come out of yourselves, because you maintain a good life founded in spirit. Those spirits around you that don't live in harmy would like that you decay. They are bad spirits, originating from chaos, that devastate you during your sleep."

While the spider said all this to the father, she was active, dispersed two blades of grass and bound them together with spider web. "You now have to bring me certain things, so that I can help you" said the spider. The father went away and brought the things, which the spider had asked for, when he came back.

First he put the eagle feather in the web. "This feather means the air and the spirits of the air" said the spider. "As next the stone should be brought into the netting. This stone means the spirit of the earth. Then put the shell in the netting. This shell means the spirit of the sea. At least put the rope of pearls in the netting. Those pearls were built in the fire and mean the spirit of the fire.

Now take this catcher of the dreams, which encloses the forces of earth, wind, fire and water. Hang it over your bed and you will rest well. Because peaceful spirits move in a straight line, they can come to you in your dreams.

But the spirits of chaotic origin can't move in a straight line and will be caught in the netting. There they will be held on till the first sunbeams will burn them away."
